Inspired by the physical and biochemical reactions, originated in our emotional experiences, Outbreak tries to take a look at these processes and reactions, which happen daily in our body, but are mostly ignored or suppressed, with the exception of very extreme cases where it becomes impossible for us to hide them.
Already as children we learn to suppress or repress our emotions. However, the memories hidden behind those experiences remain inside us. The body resists until it cannot hold itself anymore and finally reacts; biologically, chemically, physically. We shake, we sweat, we tremble; with spasms of the muscles, culminating in extremes cases in a collapse.
We fight our bodies creating a barrier, which the body itself ends up destroying. Following the internal chemistry of those processes, from joy to despair, tenderness to fear, the performers in Outbreak go through different situations. Face to face with their emotions and fears, they search for either a way to hide them or for the best way to let them come to the surface.
